Former Professional Soccer Player, Player Development Specialist, and Founder of Global Fútbol Training
Jeremie Piette is a former professional soccer player, entrepreneur, and player development specialist who has spent more than two decades helping athletes understand what it truly takes to succeed in competitive sport and beyond.
After being drafted into Major League Soccer in 2002 as one of only two Division II athletes selected that year, Jeremie went on to play professionally for over seven years across four continents, competing in 17 different countries. Those experiences exposed him to a wide range of playing styles, coaching philosophies, and training cultures that now shape his approach to developing players.
Today he is best known as the founder of Global Fútbol Training (GFT), a player development company established in 2007 that focuses on long-term athlete development through technical training, mindset coaching, and mentorship.
Jeremie’s writing on player development, youth sports culture, and training philosophy has also made the GFTskills blog one of the most widely read soccer development resources internationally, consistently ranking among the top soccer training blogs in the world.

From Professional Athlete to Soccer Development Innovator
Long before online training platforms became common in youth sports, Jeremie began building an independent training model centered on technical skill mastery, personal accountability, and confidence development.
At the time, most youth soccer environments focused primarily on team tactics and match results. Jeremie’s approach was different: develop the individual first.
Through Global Fútbol Training he helped pioneer a hybrid development model combining:
- private skill development training
- small group technical sessions
- online skill training programs
- long-term athlete mentorship
This model has since become widely adopted across the youth soccer industry.
Since founding GFT in 2007, Jeremie has personally trained hundreds of competitive athletes each year, working with players ranging from beginners to Division I and professional athletes.

Player Development Philosophy
Jeremie’s development philosophy centers on a simple principle: great players are built through mastery of fundamentals, disciplined habits, and strong character.
Modern youth soccer often emphasizes tactics and competition too early. Jeremie believes players should first develop technical confidence, decision-making ability, and mental resilience before focusing heavily on systems and strategy.
This approach has helped many athletes progress to collegiate and professional opportunities while also developing the leadership and personal discipline that extend far beyond the soccer field.
Mentoring the Next Generation of Athletes
Through Global Fútbol Training, Jeremie works with athletes at every stage of their journey — from young players learning the fundamentals to competitive high school athletes preparing for college recruitment.
Many of the athletes he has trained have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, while others have pursued professional careers around the world.
Equally important, many former trainees continue to stay in contact long after their playing careers, seeking guidance on business, leadership, and life after sports.
For Jeremie, those long-term relationships are one of the most meaningful parts of his work.
Speaking Engagements and Leadership Talks
In addition to training athletes, Jeremie regularly speaks to teams, schools, and organizations about the lessons learned from professional sports, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
His speaking engagements have included youth sports events, schools, and university programs such as the Texas A&M Mays Business Fellows, where he was invited as the featured guest speaker for a private hosted lunch followed by an extended Q&A session with students.
Drawing from his experiences competing internationally and building a player development company from the ground up, Jeremie speaks on topics including:
- developing discipline and confidence
- the reality of the college recruiting pathway

At GFT, we only do 1 thing: Player Development
The trainers and I develop, improve, and promote the player as an individual.
We do this year-round: This is our only job.
DFW is one of the most elite, challenging soccer arenas in the U.S., with deep player pools of talent and a collection of highly competitive leagues. Our trainers have collective experienced over 22 countries as soccer players. For many of them, including me, soccer training is their FT job.
We are professionals
As former soccer pros, collegiate standouts, licensed USSF coaches, and a FIFA player agent, our trainers have always understood all that soccer players (& youth) need to be successful in the short and long term: psychology, nutrition, rehab, professional resources, training, and application.
We are highly recommended
Our players’ testimonials, levels of play, and parental endorsements are just the beginning. Our greatest accomplishment is when our players text saying, “I’m sitting in the locker room, about to start my first D-1 soccer game and I just wanted to text you and say thank you for all you’ve done to help me get here.” (true story)
We are close to home
We have multiple locations in DFW; players fly and drive to us from out of state or visit us when they’re here from outside the U.S. but we also offer online training through our GFT courses.
