Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. Anyone can have dreams or goals, but you have to have the mindset that chooses to put in the hard work on the days you don’t want to. The cool part is you don’t have to do anything fancy or innovative. You just have to be consistent. One day at a time, you put in the work.
The discipline to train on your own
During my off-seasons I would train on my own just about every day. Of course there are days you need to take off and rest, but it’s a must to stay fit.
I was too scared not to train on my own. Getting cut or not starting would then be all my fault. How could you live with knowing you didn’t do what was needed? The years that I put in the most work on my own were the best seasons I had. Maybe it was a coincidence, but you can’t believe that.
The best thing you can do is believe all the greatest athletes when they say you have to work on your own.
Be that person who is training when it’s freezing cold. When everyone else decides to take the day off, you’re the one going hard.
Set your goals so high that it scares you
To achieve big things you have to plan. Some people never set goals because they don’t believe in themselves. This is okay to have these doubts. Doubting is human nature.
Don’t be afraid, instead have courage.
As a kid one of my goals/dreams was to play pro soccer/football. Deep down I thought well it’s what I want, but am I good enough? Well I ended up playing pro soccer experiencing 17 countries and 4 continents.
So set your goals high and go get them!
Find people who will push and encourage you
As people we need each other. We’re not meant to go through life on our own. People help motivate us to reach our goals.
This is why personal training and gym memberships are so popular.
Find people you can motivate and make sure you have a cast that supports you. Even with support, you still have to have discipline to show up.
Failure is what makes people great
Never be afraid to fail.
Of course we want to succeed and do well in all we try for, but just know it’s okay and it will happen.
Some of the most successful people in business and sports credit their failures to the success later achieved. It’s what motivated and pushed them more than they would without the roadblocks.

Somebody else is working harder than you
One thing that always motivated me was knowing someone across the world was working harder than me. This thinking is why I would run a little harder or go some extra laps.
Maybe someone is working harder, but don’t let it be too many of them.
Choose to be one of the hardest working people in your town, city, state, county.
You have discipline, that’s why you’re learning now.
