Playing pro even if you’re not on a top team
In addition, if your team is not invited to the Dallas Cup don’t feel discouraged…
I never played in this event, but still was drafted to Major League Soccer by Dallas.
Each year gives you time to grow and improve.
Not all the 1st round draft picks are playing pro 3 years later. On the contrary, some players who are drafted late or undrafted end up having long pro careers.
Watch the Jay Demerit story. He wasn’t drafted MLS, nor did any of the USL teams sign him. Trying his luck in Europe, playing with non-league sides he ended up signing with Watford. Later promoted to EPL.
